As well-known, the Senate spokesman, Ayogu Eze, blamed "bloody journalists" for allegedly misrepresenting him. How? He couldn't say. He lied that he never issued an terms even when he claimed last Tuesday that he was pontificating on Mark's authority. But what he could not tell Nigerians on Sunday was that the u-turn was as a result of America's portent to revoke the visas of Nigerian lawmakers and top government officials.

When they resume today after their Christmas and New Year stroke of luck, they will be on all fours, pleading that they be allowed to crawl to America even if they will be stripped naked before boarding the flight. That is the calibre of people that call themselves leaders in Nigeria; always putting self-interest before civil interest.

But America's threat of visa revocation which has exposed the soft belly of the "big men" in Abuja got me thinking.

Can anything good clock on out of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's misguided action? This is the question that has concentrated my mind since last week. Before attempting to support the question, let us put the issues in perspective.

On December 25, 2009 (Christmas Day), the first Nigerian suicide (underwear) bomber attempted to expand up an American Airliner, Northwest Airlines, which took off from the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam with 273 passengers and 11 gang members as it was descending into Detroit Airport in the state of Michigan.

Penultimate Monday, the U.S. included Nigeria in a catalogue raisonn of "countries of interest" whose citizens would face thorough screening before entering their country. It is interesting to note that that list includes Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria, officially designated "position sponsors of terrorism," and nine others - Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Libya and Somalia. The suggestion of this is that Nigerians would henceforth be subjected to very demeaning security checks at various airports including full body scanning, have one's heart set on-downs, carry-on bag searches, restriction on the use of electronic equipment such as iPods, laptops, etc., and restricted movement one hour to alighting.

    How to remove watch links on Citizen Calibre 8700?take it to a regional watch repairer. They will fix it for a small cost, a fiver at the most... then you can be sure it's done well and will last longer than if perhaps you did it.

    Also, this will safeguard you having to look for the right tools.

    what is the largest size calibre rifle u are allowed in AUS?There is no unfeigned calibre restriction for the aussies. They can own 50, 585, 60 and 70 cal and 8 and 4 guage guns ( about .98 calibre).In inside info aussie manfuctures produce some of the best elephant gun bullets in the world.http://www.woodleighbullets.com.au

    These only necessity a normal licence. probably the biggest callibre are replica cannons which can be up to 50mm or 2 inch bore as lengthy as the barrel is kept under 4 ft long.

    Some individual calibres are banned though. The 50BMG and other anti tank rifles are not allowed in some of their states. And Punt guns, or massive shotguns over 1" bore made to be fired from fishing boast at flocks of birds are not allowed either.
